Amazon Rain Forest indigenous people. Matis parents with son.
Matis men are polygamous and most important men have two wives.
Previously, a man could have many wives but at present they have limited the
number of wives a man can have to two women. As with many Amazonian
Indians, previously women were captured during raids on neighboring tribes.
Matis men no longer kidnap and assimilate women from other tribes into the Matis tribe.
