The Korubo blowgun being demonstrated is slightly shorter than the Matis blowgun on the right. In addition, it is less ornate, lacking the embedded turtle eggshell mosaic bands characteristic of Matis blowguns. Interestingly, the darts used in the Korubo blowgun are not interchangeable with the Matis blowgun darts, being thicker and heavier. The technology used in the Matis blowgun is somewhat different than the Korubo blowgun. Note that that clay is used as ballast to increase the mass of the Matis darts so that their trajectory is more true. |
