Baritsica Matis, a young Matis leader, demonstrating a four-meter Korubo blowgun (Zarabatana, in Portuguese).  Blowguns made by the Korubo tribe differ from those of the Matis in that they use thicker, heavier darts that only require the use of one wad of kapok cotton instead of two.  The Korubo are a closely related tribe, speaking essentially the same language as the Matis.  However, many characteristics of their culture in different from the Matis, as are their physical appearance and facial ornamentation.
