The Matsés tribe men are experts in the manufacture of arrows.
Previously bows and arrows were used for combat, but at present are solely used
to hunt. Arrows are approximately two meters long
and very intricate craftmanship is required during their fabrication. The
feather is actually sewn on to the arrow shaft. Moreover, the arrow is
decorated with an intricate woven pattern using chambira fibers that is both
functional and ornamental.
